Apart from sustainable development and local community programs, the Autostrada Transilvania Project is manifestly interested in academia, organizing meetings, presentations, site visits, internships and training modules for students with a calling for engineering and construction.
Through our training internships, we are aiming to collaborate with the academic sector, which stands to benefit from the expertise of a large scope infrastructure project. Hence, the Autostrada Transilvania Project organizes site visits for professors and students from the Faculty of Construction within Cluj Napoca Technical University, but also summer training internships on one of the Project camps.
During training internships, students have the opportunity to get involved in the activities of the departments they are assigned to (such as Earthworks, Structures, Community Relations) and to become truly familiar with the working environment inside an infrastructure project. Students may also get information on Project job opportunities, and work conditions, and, as they graduate, they may become full-fledged members of the Autostrada Transilvania Team.
Here is what one of our interns had to say about his experience on the Autostrada Transilvania camp:
I am very happy that I had the opportunity to be part of a project of such importance for Romania. I got to work with true professionals I had a lot to learn from. It was a challenge as well as an extraordinary experience, which I’m confident will help me improve my skills as an engineer (R.C)
Moreover, the Community Relations department, together with members of various other departments (Health, Safety and Environmental Protection, Earthworks, Structures, Paving, Procurement, Quality Control, HR) have been setting up series of Project presentations and meetings with other parties interested in the Autostrada Transilvania Project, such as local authorities, universities, business associations, student associations etc.
