Autostrada Transilvania Project is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel associated with the Project.
The Project believes in a Zero Accident Philosophy, considering that all work related injuries, disease and property losses are preventable.
The high level of health and safety performance that is required to achieve Zero Accidents is aligned with good management practices. It also includes an extensive Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) plan that is supported and enforced on all levels of the Project. The HSSE plan includes everyone involved on the Project: Project Management, site personnel, office staff, suppliers and subcontractors.
Project HSSE policies are based on extensive training programs, making all the personnel aware of potential risks, risk management and safe work practices. Positive behavior is promoted and every employee is empowered to promote and implement safety procedures.
For this purpose, we have inaugurated the Zero Accident Teams (ZAT) in all departments and across the entire project as a new way to improve our safety practices. The ZAT teams will be involved in hazard identification, site and office safety walk downs, practicing safe behavior, promoting Environment, Safety and Health department's initiative, communicating and resolving issues, performing trainings, rewarding safe behavior.
Moreover, regular safety meetings that analyze potential risks and define safe working procedures for every activity on the Project also serve as an excellent practice in teamwork and cooperation that allows us to do an excellent job, protect the environment and come home safe to our families.
Up to date, January 8th, 2011, AT Project has achieved 374,522 manhours since last lost time accident (estimated since 18 October 2010).
