Among other sustainable development projects meant to help communities on the alignment of the Transilvania motorway grow and develop, are the “Telecenters”- the fruit of collaboration between the Autostrada Transilvania Project, Microsoft Romania and Civitas Foundation. The project aims to provide computer operation training, English language classes, project management and agricultural tourism courses for the rural communities on the motorway alignment.
The goal of the “Telecenters” is to create and develop operational capacities of management, promotion and effective use of local resources, by involving all local players and establishing clear forms of communication and collaboration between them.
Two Telecenters are currently operational in Cluj County, and two in Bihor County - Chislaz and Tauteu. The latter telecenter opened in August 2007, during the Tauteu Village Days festivities, following the inauguration of a new community center.
